In the Palouse Spring 2021
The hills of the Palouse country of southeastern Washington and western Idaho is one of my favorite places to photograph, and, given that its only a 6 hour drive from my home, I return at least once per year. These images are from a trip in June 2021. In a typical year, the wheat and pea fields are the most green and lush, and the canola fields are a full-throated yellow in mid-June. This has been a dry year leaving many fields looking sparse, but the weather was a bit unsettled providing some dramatic light at times. That combination made the photography more challenging but still very rewarding.
