More Than A Rock (With Apologies to Guy Tal)

“One should not only photograph things for what they are but for what else they are.” – Minor White

Joshua Tree National Park is well know for the abundance of its namesake tree, but also for its piles and piles of rocks  Their abundance, shapes and arrangements offer an infinite supply of imagery.  I visited Joshua Tree earlier this year to explore and photograph those rocks  Following Minor White's advice, I saw shapes, forms, expressions and figures that went beyond their being just rocks.  So I spent several days roaming the park, photographing more than just rocks. These are some of my favorite images from that visit.
